‘The best time to start anything is today.’ So go ahead and do it TODAY.

It was exactly 6 months ago, I wrote my first blog. Not a very long time though. Still that first blog has a lot for me to tell and learn. Learning from other’s mistakes and implementing them is what is required but those who themselves do mistakes, learn from them, and improve are the real warriors.

Coz improvement is what is inevitable

With more and more blogs that came up, I was improving constantly but at the same time taking notes on what was going wrong with every previous blog and what can be done better than that. With those I took the following notes that should be followed in a series of steps when you decide to write your first blog.

1. Decide Your Topic

WOW! You are going to write your first blog. Excited? Wohooo! Butterflies making their way up and down in your stomach?

Still, amidst of all this you decide to open your laptop and yes, opened writing tool too. But? What are you going to write on? Have you decided the topic? The thoughts that you are going to pour out requires a direction.

Give that direction first.

You need to be very sure that the topic you are going to write on should be of your and your readers’ interest. People like trending things. They love to explore more and more on trending in every field. You can go with that.

How are you going to find out what is trending in the field or niche that you are going to talk about?

There is a solution to everything all it requires is a bit of research. You can use various tools like:

Google Trends
Buzzsumo
Trendsmap
What’s Trending
Moz Content

Etc, to figure out the buzzing topic or you can also utilize social media, communities, discussion forums, etc to pick out the latest trending thing that everyone is talking about.

Once you analyze the topic, decide it, the next step goes in choosing the correct headline.

2. Choosing The Headline

Some people confuse topic and headline with the same thing but they aren’t same. Topic is what your headline is all about. Various headlines can point to the same topic still some may perform better than others, even after having the same content.

Why?

Because, a headline is the first attraction to every reader. This is the point where your reader decides if he/she wants to go ahead with your content or not? So, you need to make a personal connection with the reader in the heading itself.

While deciding a heading, make sure you have some personal value attached to it, it should be significant, relevant, hold some emotional value, and have the required length. You can use headline analyzer tools for the same which analyzes your headline and gives them the score like:

Sharethrough Headline Analyzer
Coschedule Headline Analyzer
Advanced Marketing Institute — Headline Analyzer

3. It’s Research Time

All set with your headline? Go ahead! Start gathering as much as knowledge as you can.
Google around it, read more and more books, see what people have to say on that topic on various platforms, and figure out what you have to say different around that topic.

People don’t like to read the copied content, They love to read the new way of writing, greater content, different opinions. For that you at first need to be aware of the already existing content and what value you can add to it.

Spend as much time as you can researching around the topic.

4. Speak Your Heart Out

After figuring out what what’s going on, what you can add to it, you now need to speak your heart out on the topic. Speak on every possibility that you see. May be people don’t like what you want to say or may be a possibility that they will love you for what you have to say. To figure that out, you first need to write.

So, be a wolf!

Speak it out.

5. Share it

What’s good a content without being marketed? You have written an absolute piece of art but how would the world get to know about it? You need to share it. Share it on all the possible platforms that you guess would be right. Share it on the platforms where your niche readers would be.

Once done, sit back and wait for your content to go viral and get ready for appreciation.

6. Learning

Not getting appreciation? No worries.

Remember, Learning is the ultimate goal.

If you are being criticized or not getting criticized or appreciated at all. Don’t lose your heart. Instead, go back to step 1, figure out what went wrong and correct it in the next blog. You are a warrior. I told you in the beginning. Right?

7. Time for next blog

Learned? Accepted?

It’s now time for a new piece of wonder!

Sometimes you get success, sometimes you learn.

Those who learn are warriors, those who succeed were once a warrior. Now, it’s the time to go on a journey to be a warrior. Coz IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN?
